I'm in CA, ORM (asian), attended a small liberal arts college, and took 2 gap years where I was working as an MA and volunteering. Any feedback is greatly appreciated <3. Completely disagree with you. IAs come in many different flavors. My med school said this in their policy manual too. I sat on the adcom my fourth year of med school and IAs for something like this could sometimes even work in the applicants favor. Totally depends.
